GLJ contracts Ltd were instructed to carry out a full refurbishment of Units 4a & 4b on the Barton Park Industrial Estate.
Works included the full strip out of the unit along with heavy demolition works to the office block and the licenced removal of asbestos throughout the building before works to upgrade the unit began.
Existing vehicle service pits were in-filled with mass concrete and structural steel strengthening repair works were undertaken to support the existing timber roof structure, all to structural engineers design detail. Following on GLJ undertook a full internal and external refurbishment package including the installation of a new building regulations compliant built-up overclad roofing system.

The roadside elevation was shot-blast to remove many years of old paint systems, brickwork cleaned and repaired and with the installation of new aluminium window systems gave the property a modern yet rustic façade.

Internal works included redecoration and the installation of new epoxy resin coated floors, new kitchen and floor coverings were installed to the office areas along with new internal timber door sets and all new aluminium windows to elevations. Insulation was also introduced to improve thermal values.


All office and warehouse WCs were overhauled and modernised with new sanitary wares and decorative finishes throughout. New doors, ironmongery and IPS panelling systems were installed and the existing sprinkler system was serviced and upgraded.
Electrics were redesigned and replaced in full with complete new LED lighting, new air-conditioning systems and electric heating to the offices.



Works also included the installation of new EV chargers to the front car-park.
Hardstanding’s were cleaned and line marking was renewed to replace the faded spaces from before.
