GLJ Contracts Ltd were instructed to carry out the renovation of 2 units on the Alpine Way Estate, the works taking place included the complete strip out of both units, along with the removal and disposal of all asbestos containing materials within the building. Following on with works to remove and install an entire new roof system, along with new gutter linings and downpipes. Aside from this a new cladding system has been installed to the front and side elevations of the units to bring new life to the facades.

With the roofing system also comes a new man-safe system installed which includes skylight protectors and a ladder access system to the roof. Along with this was also the installation of a completely new PV system to the roof in order to help lower the carbon footprint of the buildings

The warehouses internally undertook a large amount of improvement as well, due to previous damages we undertook works including injections of geo-polymer resins to the warehouse slabs to re-level and strengthen the internal flooring of the warehouse. Decorative works also took place, with the walls & floors all undergoing repainting works, these works also spread to the units offices and WC’s with updates being made throughout.

Works to update the electrical systems in both units also took place, with a brand new emergency lighting system being installed to both units, along with a new panel heaters being installed to go with the new heating & cooling system. With this also came the installation & commissioning of a new extraction ventilation system within each units WC’s.

Some other works that took place included new sectional shutter doors that were installed to each unit, as well as new aluminium windows, which were also installed for both units.

Refurbishments took place to the office kitchenettes and WC’s with all undertaking updates to the plumbing systems. New sanitaryware’s were installed in the WC’s along with new IPS panelling for the cubicles.

The offices themselves also undertook works to refurbish them, including the decorations previously mentioned, along with new floor coverings being installed. Aside from this there were also works to install new suspended ceiling systems throughout both units
