In April 2014, GLJ completed the 4-week installation of a Spar Store, which included an EAT 17 Restaurant inside, in Hackney, London. Our works included, installing GRG specification perimeter frieze (around the perimeters and above shelving to house areas such as, Frozen Foods, Health & Home, Chilled Beers and World Wines). Full decorations to high soffits, internal doors and frames were also completed. A prefabricated food server counter was supplied and installed, as well as a frameless glass counter surround for the dessert section. The customer toilets were also decorated throughout.

The existing Spar retailer opened an additional store with Blakemore Design and Shopfitting Ltd. The job took 4 weeks all together and was completed in stages as programmed by Blakemores. GLJ had to plan ahead and working alongside other contractors as carpenters, decorators and partitioners were all used in this installation.

As it was a brand new store, all work was carried out during normal working hours and therefore, no disruption was caused. The client was very satisfied with the final work, it even featured on a Channel 4 Programme with Mary Porter showing a licensed food outlet trading within a convenience store.
